    Leicester Tigers’ Jasper Wiese Triumphs as RPA Players’ Player of the Year

    South African Jasper Wiese Wins Rugby Players’ Association Players’ Player of the Year

    Leicester Tigers’ South Africa number eight, Jasper Wiese, has been named the Rugby Players’ Association players’ player of the year in a recent ceremony. The 27-year-old helped his team to reach the Premiership semi-finals and quarter-finals of the prestigious Heineken Champions Cup.

    The nominees for this award also included Newcastle wing Mateo Carreras, Saracens flanker Ben Earl, Northampton scrum-half Alex Mitchell and Tom Pearson from London Irish. Meanwhile, young back row Pearson was honoured with Young Player of The Year title.

    In addition to that, Leicester full-back Freddie Steward won England men’s player of the year award consecutively for two years while Sadia Kabeya took home Women’s equivalent prize. Gloucester-Hartpury scrum-half Natasha Hunt secured Premier 15s player of the year title for her exceptional performances throughout.

    This accolade is indeed a remarkable achievement for Wiese as he accomplished it by competing against some formidable names in professional rugby. His superb playing style combined with excellent teamwork made him stand out amongst other contenders
