Manfred Bilderl defeats Phil Taylor in the final of World Senior Darts Championship debut at Circus Tavern

Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor’s Early Exit at World Senior Darts Championship

Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor faced an unexpected defeat in his final appearance at the World Senior Darts Championship, losing 3-2 to Germany’s Manfred Bilderl at the Circus Tavern. The sixteen-time world champion, set to retire from the seniors circuit in 2024, displayed a valiant effort with three maximums and an average of 83.02. However, he struggled with his finishing during this farewell tournament at the iconic venue.

Taylor fought back after being two sets down and managed to push the match into a decider. Nevertheless, Bilderl emerged victorious and secured a spot in the second round against Chris Mason. This marked a disappointing conclusion to Taylor’s legacy at Circus Tavern.

The legendary player had previously reached every PDC World Darts Championship final held at Circus Tavern – totaling fourteen appearances – winning eleven titles throughout his illustrious career. In this last outing, however, the 63-year-old struggled with conversion rate, hitting only eight out of thirty-three attempts on doubles.
