NiKo dismisses puppet master speculation amidst potential G2 CS2 lineup change

G2 Esports Roster Shuffle Rumors Denied by NiKo

There has been a whirlwind of rumors surrounding G2 Esports’ Counter-Strike team recently, but frontman Nikola “NiKo” Kovač has now come forward to dismiss them. In a tweet, the Bosnian star expressed his surprise that people believed he held such immense power within teams.

The speculations primarily revolved around upcoming roster changes involving Justin “jks” Savage and Nemanja “nexa” Isaković. However, NiKo made it clear that he was not the mastermind behind these potential moves.

Intriguingly enough, these rumors emerged shortly after reports of NiKo’s rumored departure from G2 to join the highly anticipated Saudi-owned superteam in Falcons fell through. Despite all signs pointing towards a done deal, it was eventually revealed that NiKo would stay with G2’s international lineup.

This turn of events left jks’ position on the G2 roster uncertain, as many expected former in-game leader nexa to make a comeback and take his place. Nevertheless, no official announcements have been made yet regarding this or any other possible changes within the team.

While NiKO hasn’t explicitly denied the possibility of future roster shuffles either, time is running out for G2 with their next match just under a month away. The clock is ticking for confirmation on any alterations they plan to make.

Notably, a potential shakeup would mark the end of an era for this successful G2 lineup. With trophies from prestigious tournaments such as IEM Cologne 2023 and IEM Katowice 2023 displayed in their cabinets, as well as their reign as the top-ranked Counter-Strike team globally, it’s clear that they have achieved great success together.

The rumored departure of jks has been met with criticism from fans and industry analysts alike, some even labeling it as “the worst move of all time.” After spending a year with G2 and achieving multiple high placements at renowned events, losing him could be seen as a significant blow to the team.

For now, G2 will be entering the BLAST Premier World Final 2023 with the same roster. Whether or not major changes are on the horizon remains uncertain.
