Racing enthusiasts anticipate Rogue Millennium’s bid for Prix Rothschild title

Millennium Rogue takes down Duke of Cambridge stakes title at Royal Ascot!

In a stunning upset, trainer Tom Clover’s astute decision to drop four-year-old filly Millennium Rogue back to a mile paid off in spades. Having previously run over 10 furlongs for her first nine starts, the daughter of Dubawi shocked the field with an impressive win at this year’s Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The race began with modest pace as jockey Danny Tudhope held his ground, keeping close on Random Harvest and waiting patiently for the right moment to make his move. As they approached the finish line, Tudhope urged Millennium Rogue forward and she surged ahead by a neck to secure her third career victory.

Trainer Tom Clover was ecstatic about recording his first British Group-race victory. He remarked that it had been “the most incredible day – it was a really special day and it is only just sinking in now.”

Prix Rothschild next stop for Millennium Rogue

The Rogues Gallery syndicate-owned filly will now head to Deauville on July 30th for the Group One contest in Prix Rothschild. The five-week timeframe gives them ample time frame without having to rush preparations.

“I would say she will go to the Prix Rothschild,” said Clover when asked about future plans.”It gives us a really nice time frame… I just feel you’d have every chance if you went straight to Deauville instead”

Clover added that he has high hopes for this rising star as there are plenty of potential avenues she could follow. “The dream, the absolute dream, would be to even think about taking on the boys in the QEII,” he said.

Millennium Rogue has already had four runs this term and with her trip versatility now confirmed, Clover admits there are plenty of potential avenues she could follow. However, their plans for France may dictate where they go next.
