Reportedly, Paris CS:GO Major raked in more than $110 million through sticker sales

    BLAST.tv Paris CS:GO Major – A Sticker Sales Sensation

The BLAST.tv Paris CS:GO Major has taken the Counter-Strike community by storm with its staggering sticker sales. This major event, which marked the final chapter before the migration to CS2, has reportedly surpassed sticker sales from the previous three Majors combined.

The mind-boggling numbers come from a report by HLTV and Dust2 Brasil, revealing that sticker earnings for the Paris Major have exceeded an astounding $110 million. The revenue was divided based on capsule sales, with each of the three qualification groups – Legends, Challengers, and Contenders – having their own dedicated capsule.

    A Record-Breaking Success:

The Contenders capsule featuring top teams like Liquid and FaZe witnessed exceptional demand as it emerged as the highest-selling one. Each team in this category is said to have earned an impressive sum of approximately $4.5 million per team alongside $250,000 per player.

Following closely behind was the Legends capsule that included renowned teams such as NAVI, FURIA, Fnatic, and eventual champions Vitality. This sought-after category generated substantial revenue at $3.5 million per team and $200,000 per player.

Last but not least is the Challengers capsule comprising G2 and NiP among others who added to the frenzy. Teams in this category received a noteworthy amount of $2.6 million per team and $200,000 per player.

    Unprecedented Success:

Comparing these staggering figures to Valve’s official earnings from previous Majors, it becomes evident that BLAST Paris has outperformed them all combined. The StarLadder Major Berlin paid out just over $11 million, while the PGL Stockholm and Antwerp Majors together accounted for a total payout of $70 million.

However, even these record-breaking numbers pale in comparison to the monumental success achieved by BLAST Paris. As the final Major for CS:GO before transitioning to CS2, anticipation surrounding sticker price increase drove fans and players alike to participate fervently.

The introduction of purchasable sticker capsules fueled a dramatic surge in player engagement, with CS:GO experiencing its highest monthly average player count in May 2023 when the stickers were released. Remarkably, this increased player activity persisted throughout September as long as the stickers remained available for purchase.
