RNF MotoGP team refutes financial troubles and acquisition discussions

RNF MotoGP Team: Clarity Amidst Speculations

2022 saw the birth of a new force in the world of MotoGP – RNF. Following Petronas and the Sepang Racing Team’s departure from the sport, former SRT team boss Razlan Razali took over as owner of RNF. The team initially raced with Yamaha bikes but switched to Aprilia for this season.

Unfortunately, RNF has struggled to make an impact on the track. Finishing 11th out of 12 teams in their debut year and currently on course for ninth out of 11 outfits this season, it’s clear that they have faced significant challenges.

The Valencia Grand Prix weekend brought forth rumors regarding RNF’s future participation in MotoGP due to alleged debt related to its title partner. Some even speculated that NASCAR team Trackhouse Racing would take over the team next season after a social media post by Razali hinted at his potential resignation at the end of the current campaign.

However, all these speculations were put to rest when RNF released an official statement denying any takeover offers and clarifying their financial situation. The statement emphasized that there is a valid contract with both MotoGP organizers Dorna Sports (assigned from Sepang Racing Team) and bike supplier Aprilia until 2026.

    Rumors Dispelled:

    1. No Breach or Termination Notices:
      • The press release highlighted that no breach or termination notice has been received regarding either contract mentioned above.
    2. No Debt Towards Suppliers:
      • The rumors suggesting debts owed to Aprilia were categorically denied. The statement clarified that all financial obligations towards suppliers, including Aprilia, have been settled since earlier this year.
    3. Rejection of Grid Takeover Offer:
      • RNF confirmed that an offer for their place on the grid was indeed received but had been officially rejected over two weeks ago. No further negotiations have taken place following this rejection.

In conclusion, RNF MotoGP Team is determined to silence the doubters and work towards improving their performance on the track. With a strong ownership structure in place and contracts secured until 2026, they are focused on optimizing their resources and implementing strategies to achieve success in MotoGP.
