Royale Pagaille’s participation in King George ruled out

Venetia Williams’ Royale Pagaille Forced Out of King George VI Chase

In a puzzling turn of events, Venetia Williams’ talented nine-year-old gelding, Royale Pagaille, will unfortunately be absent from the highly anticipated Ladbrokes King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.

The sudden setback has been attributed to a sore foot suffered by the impressive steeplechaser. This unforeseen circumstance dashed all hopes for another victory in this prestigious event.

Royale Pagaille showcased his formidability in the Betfair Chase at Haydock in November when he triumphed over Bravemansgame. Ironically, it was the very same competitor who defeated him last season by an astonishing 14 lengths in the King George.

Ambitions were high for Royale Paigaille’s return clash against Bravemansgame; however, fate took an unexpected twist with this untimely injury.

Venetia Williams expressed her disappointment through Instagram: “Unfortunately Royale Pagaille is unable to run in the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day due to a sore foot.”

The timing of this misfortune adds further frustration as preparations were already underway for what could have been another memorable performance during Christmas festivities. Instead, their sights are now set on securing a third consecutive title at the Peter Marsh Chase held at Haydock Park Racecourse next month.

Aiming for Victory at Peter Marsh Chase

The Herefordshire-based trainer remains optimistic despite the setback, hoping that Royale Pagaille’s recovery will be swift. Venetia Williams shared her aspirations for a successful outing at the Peter Marsh Chase in January, stating: “The timing is probably more painful than the foot itself, and hopefully he will bid for a third Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock in January.”

Fans of Royale Pagaille are now eagerly awaiting his return to full fitness and another chance to witness his exceptional racing skills.
