Saracens Women Secure the Signing of Canadian International Paige Farries

In a surprising move, Saracens Women have announced the acquisition of Canadian international and former Worcester Warriors winger, Paige Farries. The 29-year-old made her debut for Canada in 2017 before joining Worcester Warriors in 2020.

Farries’ impressive performance at the recent Rugby World Cup saw her score four tries, showcasing her exceptional talent on the field. Additionally, she managed to secure a brace against Saracens during their Allianz Premier 15s fixture last year while playing for Worcester.

“She possesses an exceptional ability to navigate through space and has mastered the art of outmaneuvering opponents with her agile footwork,” expressed Alex Austerberry, director of rugby at Saracens. “Moreover, she is an outstanding defender who will undoubtedly strengthen our back-three unit.”

The transfer comes after a period of upheaval for Worcester Warriors Women’s team due to financial difficulties faced by their male counterparts in administration earlier this year. Consequently, they were forced to withdraw from this season’s league and cup competitions back in October.

“Returning to the UK was quite unexpected and threw my life into chaos following Worcester’s dissolution,” shared Ferries candidly. “However, joining Saracens has revitalized me both personally and professionally.”

Ferries further added that she is eagerly anticipating the upcoming season with Saracens as it offers fantastic opportunities for growth and development throughout her career.
