Dominating the fight, Stevenson secured victory in the sixth round, earning his position as the mandatory challenger for the WBC lightweight title.

Having been previously relieved of his WBC and WBO junior lightweight belts due to missing weight before his match against Robson Conceicao in September, Stevenson (20-0, 10 KOs) redeemed himself with a unanimous decision win and advanced to the lightweight class. This division is currently ruled by undisputed champion Devin Haney.
