Trueshan Set for Qatar Prix du Cadran Bid
Alan King’s Trueshan is gearing up for a second win in the prestigious Qatar Prix du Cadran following his impressive return to form in the Doncaster Cup. After a lackluster start to the season, Trueshan underwent a wind operation mid-season, which seems to have rejuvenated him.
In an interview, trainer Alan King expressed relief and surprise at Trueshan’s recent victory. He admitted that Trueshan was quite fresh during the race and made some mistakes but overall performed exceptionally well.
“He did quite a lot wrong because he was so fresh. Surprised (by the win) I’m not so sure, but it was certainly a relief more than anything.”
The wind operation played a significant role in Trueshan’s resurgence. In his previous races, he struggled to finish strongly, making it crucial for him to perform well on track after undergoing the procedure.
“Obviously the wind op has helped big time. In his previous two races he hadn’t finished off at all so we were hoping it would make a difference, but you always want to see them go and do it on track.”
