Surrey Cricket Club Secures Long-Term Commitment from Tom Lawes, Jamie Smith, and Dan Worrall

Surrey All-Rounders Secure Multi-Year Deals

In a stunning move, Surrey Cricket Club has announced that all-rounder Tom Lawes, batter Jamie Smith, and bowler Dan Worrall have signed new “multi-year” contracts. The trio played an instrumental role in helping the Kia Oval club clinch the County Championship Division One title last season.

Lawes, a talented right-armer at just 20 years old, was developed through Surrey’s exceptional talent pathway. With an impressive record of 48 first-class wickets at an average of 21.72, Lawes has become a force to be reckoned with on the cricketing scene. Meanwhile, Smith – aged 23 – also emerged from Surrey’s talent pipeline and boasts remarkable batting skills with 2,690 first-class runs under his belt at an average of 39.55.

Worrall joined Surrey from Gloucestershire ahead of last season and instantly made his presence felt as he contributed immensely to their success. Having represented Australia in three one-day internationals, Worrall is no stranger to high-pressure situations and has already claimed an outstanding tally of 77 wickets in just 19 matches for Surrey.

This season, Jamie Smith has emerged as Surrey’s leading run-scorer in Division One. With an impressive tally of 669 runs in just 11 games, his batting prowess has been pivotal in propelling the club forward.
