New Recruits Leading Teams In The Hundred

As the third edition of The Hundred approaches, new recruits are taking on leadership roles for their respective teams. Welsh Fire has appointed Tom Abell as their men’s team captain and Tammy Beaumont for the women’s team in 2023. Manchester Originals’ women will be led by Sophie Ecclestone.

Abell Excited to Work with Mike Hussey at Welsh Fire

All-rounder Tom Abell is thrilled to work with head coach Mike Hussey at Welsh Fire. He jumped at the opportunity to lead a group of players that includes new signings Sophia Dunkley, Shabnim Ismail, and Freya Davies. “I’m really excited by the challenge that lies in front of us,” said Abell.

Welsh Fire boss Mark Wallace expressed his enthusiasm about adding Abell to their leadership group alongside Tammy Beaumont. He believes that both captains’ experience will help develop their culture off-field.

Sophie Ecclestone leads Manchester Originals women this season after an impressive performance last year where she was named player of the match three times out of six games played.

Perry and Ali Lead Phoenix’s Teams, Buttler Opposes Ecclestone

Birmingham Phoenix had Ellyse Perry and Moeen Ali as captains while Jos Buttler opposed Sophie Eccleston on the field for Manchester Originals in matches held under floodlights across England & Wales from July 21st until August 21st.
