“Tammy Beaumont’s Record-Breaking Performance in The Ashes 2023 Leaves England Fans in Awe”

England Women’s Tammy Beaumont Smashes Record-breaking Double Century Against Australia

England women’s cricket team player, Tammy Beaumont, has broken the individual record for scoring the most runs in a single innings by an England woman. She scored an impressive 208 against Australia during their one-off Ashes Test at Trent Bridge.

The Best Team In The World Defeated By A Special Performance

Beaumont described her performance as “pretty special” because it came against the “best team in the world”. Her score broke Betty Snowball’s record of 189 which had stood for over eight decades. Despite her success, Beaumont displayed humility and played down her achievement.

“It’s a great accolade. I guess I just had a day out,” said Beaumont.

A Great Team Effort With Help From Fellow Players

Despite being last to fall with England making a total of 463 runs, Beaumont was grateful for all the help she received from fellow teammates Heather Knight and Nat Sciver-Brunt throughout her innings.

“They have known me for so long and know when I need a kick up the bum to keep going.”

A New Aggressive Approach Leads To Success Under Coach Jon Lewis

New coach Jon Lewis is instilling an aggressive approach within England’s game plan which appears to be paying off. However, this style doesn’t come naturally to all players including Tammy who is more of a touch player than others on the team.

Tammy was dropped from England’s T20 side after playing at this year’s Ashes but went away and worked hard on her game. Her success is a testament to her drive and determination.

“England want to play this aggressive style, but actually Tammy doesn’t necessarily play that naturally. She is more a timer of the ball but she’s got all the shots.”

    Beaumont – A Cricket Badger

Tammy Beaumont’s passion for cricket knows no bounds according to teammate Georgia Elwiss who describes her as “an absolute cricket badger. Her love of the sport shows in how she approaches every aspect of it.

In fact, even when fielding at short leg, Tammy never shuts up! According to Elwiss: “She often fields at short leg and just doesn’t shut up!”

“She’s hugely competitive and one of those people that always wants to be batting”

A Proud Moment For All Involved

The magnitude of Tammy’s achievement was not lost on family members present during the test match. Speaking  Today At The Test program, mum Julie could hardly contain herself saying:

“It’s just fantastic, more than you could ever dream of when this little six-year-old told us ‘I’m going to play with my brother at the boys’ team'”
