The Testimonials of Nirvana Spa 1965 Chase: Customer Feedback

Shishkin and Pic D’Orhy Set for Epic Showdown at Ascot

In a highly anticipated clash, Shishkin and Pic D’Orhy are ready to battle it out in the Nirvana Spa 1965 Chase at Ascot. Both horses have shown tremendous form in recent outings, making this race a thrilling spectacle for racing enthusiasts.

Shishkin’s Journey from Speedster to Stayer

Known for his brilliance over two miles, Shishkin made the decision to step up in distance after finishing third in last year’s Tingle Creek at Sandown. This move proved fruitful as he showcased his magnificence by winning the Ascot Chase and finishing second behind Envoi Allen in the Ryanair Chase.

The Grand National meeting saw Shishkin take on three miles and a furlong, where he impressively stayed on strongly to secure victory against Ahoy Senor. Trainer Nicky Henderson has set his sights on the King George at Christmas but first, Shishkin must pass this reappearance test over two miles five furlongs.

Henderson expressed confidence in Shiskhin’s form stating “He’s in very good form. Nico (de Boinville) is happy with him, timing is right, and he’s done everything right.” The Nine-year-old will be facing off once again against Paul Nicholls-trained Pic D’Orhy who finished second to him earlier this year.

Pic D’Orhy Determined to Turn Tables

Although Pic D’Orhy played second fiddle to Shishkin in their previous encounter, trainer Paul Nicholls believes this time around things could be different. Speaking about his charge’s progress, Nicholls stated “I’ve always believed in this horse who never stopped improving last season and looks fantastic.” Having returned triumphantly with a victory at the Melling Chase in Aintree, Pic D’Orhy is primed for a strong performance.

The drying ground at Ascot and an eyecatching work session alongside stablemate Bravemansgame has further boosted expectations within the Ditcheat camp. With Harry Cobden on board as the jockey, Nicholls hopes Pic D’Orhy can prove himself against formidable competition.

A Battle of Stamina: Minella Drama Joins the Fray

Donald McCain’s Minella Drama enters the race as a bronze medallist behind Pic D’Orhy and performed well on his seasonal bow when finishing second in the Old Roan Chase. Jockey Brian Hughes acknowledges that defeating Shishkin won’t be easy but remains optimistic due to having had a previous run under their belt.

Hughes remarked “Strictly on ratings, we look fairly matched with Pic D’Orhy, but Shishkin is in the race, and he is a fair horse.” Going right-handed at Ascot suits Minella Drama’s running style according to Hughes who hopes for another strong showing from their side.

    The Unyielding Straw Fan Jack

Trainer Sheila Lewis continues her ambitious targets for Straw Fan Jack after setting lofty goals toward end of last season. Despite facing tough competition from top-class horses like Shishkin and Pic D’Dorhy, Lewis maintains high aspirations for her charge.
