Tottenham secures deal for winger Manor Solomon from Shakhtar Donetsk

Tottenham Set to Sign Manor Solomon: Latest Transfer News

Manor Solomon, the highly sought-after talent, is on the verge of joining Tottenham Hotspur. A verbal agreement has been reached between Spurs and the 23-year-old winger, marking a turning point in his career.

Following an impressive season at Fulham last year, where he found the back of the net five times in just 24 appearances, Marco Silva’s desire to retain him at Craven Cottage was not enough. Now, all eyes are on Solomon as he prepares for a medical examination later this week before officially signing his contract with Spurs.

The road leading up to this deal has been anything but conventional. Solomon exercised FIFA’s unique ruling that allows Ukraine-based players who are not Ukrainian nationals to pause their contracts due to political circumstances. This rule came into effect after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Hailing from Shakhtar Donetsk originally, Solomon made a move to Fulham after temporarily suspending his contract under this FIFA regulation. With his current Shakhtar contract set to expire on December 31st, Tottenham will have an opportunity to acquire him for a reduced fee.

New Manager Ange Postecoglu Looking for Reinforcements

This potential signing would make Manor Solomon Tottenham’s fourth acquisition during this summer transfer window. Previously securing Dejan Kulusevski as winger reinforcement alongside goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and midfielder James Maddison; it is evident that new manager Ange Postecoglu aims to reshape and strengthen his squad following their disappointing eighth-place finish in the Premier League last season.
