Trainer Quotes for the Silviniaco Conti Chase

Banbridge Targets Coral Silviniaco Conti Chase at Kempton

Excitement is building as Banbridge prepares to make his highly anticipated return in the prestigious Coral Silviniaco Conti Chase at Kempton on Saturday. The eight-year-old, trained by Joseph O’Brien, is no stranger to competing in the UK and has already achieved notable success.

In 2022, Banbridge secured a victory at the Cheltenham Festival and went on to clinch his first Grade One title at Aintree’s Manifesto Novices’ Chase later that season. However, due to unfavorable weather conditions, he has been kept under wraps since his triumph in Liverpool.

O’Brien expressed his eagerness to kickstart Banbridge’s campaign ahead of key targets set for the major festivals later this season. “He’s been ready to run for a little while now but just hasn’t had suitable conditions,” said O’Brien. “We’re looking forward to getting him started and hopefully he runs a nice race in preparation for the spring festivals.”

    Pic D’Orhy Faces Tough Challenge

Last year’s winner Pic D’Orhy faces a formidable challenge as he returns to defend his title. Trained by Paul Nicholls and victorious in the Melling Chase, Pic D’Orhy capitalized on Shishkin’s mishap during his reappearance at Ascot.

Nicholls remains confident about Pic D’Orhy’s chances: “He won this by 16 lengths a year ago and has a solid chance of completing the double.” Despite not being at peak form during his only race this season, with ground conditions working against him, Nicholls believes Pic D’Orhy still displayed resilience.

Alan King Seeks Repeat Victory with Edwardstone

Looking to replicate his success in the 2015 Coral Silviniaco Conti Chase, trainer Alan King now sends Edwardstone into the race. The Arkle winner showcased progress during his return at the Shloer Chase and secured a brave second place in the Tingle Creek prior to Christmas.

Although accepting defeat in the highly competitive two-mile division, King has set his sights on the Ryanair Chase for Edwardstone. Jockey Tom Cannon is hopeful that improved ground conditions at Kempton will rejuvenate Edwardstone’s performance as he tackles a distance longer than an extended two miles over fences.

Laura Morgan Sets Sights on Festival with Notlongtillmay

Laura Morgan’s Notlongtillmay looks to make her mark after a commendable second-place finish behind Stage Star in the Paddy Power Gold Cup. With freshened spirits, she aims to secure victory and ultimately compete in the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham Festival.

The field of five contenders is completed by Willie Mullins’ Janidil, adding further intrigue to this high-quality contest.
