Pape Souare Joins Morecambe from Crystal Palace

Morecambe, currently facing relegation, has enlisted former Crystal Palace left-back Pape Souare for the remainder of the League One season. The 32-year-old Senegalese international was a free agent after parting ways with Charlton following 13 appearances last season. Souare, who has Premier League experience with Palace, joins former Everton striker Oumar Niasse as a fresh addition to the Shrimps.

Determined to help Morecambe retain their League One status, Souare plans to draw upon his prior experience in England to bolster the team’s performance. Souare’s professional journey began with Lille and continued with Reims before he joined Palace in the January 2015 transfer window. Following a serious car accident in September 2016, Souare spent time recovering before stints at Charlton and French club Troyes. Morecambe’s manager, Derek Adams, is optimistic that Souare’s wealth of experience will invigorate the team during the crucial final stretch of the season.
