Undecided Outcome Regarding Arc’s Bid for Leger Champion Continuous

Aidan O’Brien Contemplates Continuous’ Potential Arc Triumph After St Leger Victory

Following an impressive triumph in the St Leger at Doncaster on Saturday, Aidan O’Brien is taking his time to decide whether Continuous will join the lineup for the prestigious Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

The three-year-old colt had a slow start this season, losing his first three races. However, he has found his rhythm in the latter half of the campaign and showcased his brilliance by winning the Great Voltigeur at York before securing victory at Town Moor’s final Classic.

Despite not having an entry in the Arc, O’Brien mentioned that there’s a possibility of supplementing Continuous into the race with a €120,000 fee after his Doncaster triumph.

Continuous has recovered well from his exertions according to Ballydoyle handler Aidan O’Brien. With the supplementary stage scheduled for next Wednesday – only four days before Europe’s premier middle-distance contest – it seems reasonable for him to take some time before making any definitive plans.

“We don’t make plans until a week or so ever,” said O’Brien during an interview with PA news agency regarding Continuous’ future participation.

In addition to being considered for inclusion in France’s biggest horse racing event, Continuous is also entered for the Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot on October 21st. When asked about alternative options apart from attempting an Arc bid, O’Brien stated that Continuous has many alternatives and they will assess his condition before making any decisions.

While Continuous is under consideration, Irish Oaks winner Savethelastdance will not be competing in the Arc. The Galileo filly was last seen finishing third in the Yorkshire Oaks behind stablemate Warm Heart. O’Brien confirmed that she won’t make the trip to Paris and her season has come to an end.

“We always talk about those things at the end of the year really, so we haven’t discussed it yet,” said O’Brien when asked if Savethelastdance could return as a four-year-old in 2024.
