Valentino Rossi’s MotoGP squad unveils fresh 2024 design for their team colors

The Rise of VR46 Team in the Premier Class

In the world of motorcycle racing, the VR46 team has been making waves since its debut in the premier class back in 2021. Led by riders Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini, this Italian squad is set to enter its third season with high hopes and a refreshed lineup.

Last year was a breakout season for both the team and Bezzecchi, as they achieved remarkable success on track. With three grand prix wins under his belt, Bezzecchi secured an impressive third place finish in the riders’ standings.

    A Revised Line-Up for 2024

For the upcoming 2024 season, there have been some changes within the VR46 team. While Bezzecchi remains on board for another year, he will now be joined by Fabio Di Giannantonio.

Di Giannantonio found himself without a ride after losing his Gresini Ducati spot to Marc Marquez this year. However, he was fortunate enough to secure a place at VR46, stepping into Marini’s shoes after he signed a two-year deal with Honda.

    New Partnership and Livery Rebranding

The VR46 team has also undergone significant changes off-track. Pertamina Enduro lubricant brand from Indonesia’s state-owned oil and gas corporation Pertamina has taken over as their title partner from Mooney.

This partnership rebranding is reflected in the team’s new yellow, white, and red livery for the 2024 season. The striking colors were unveiled at the team’s launch presentation in Italy.

    Remaining with Ducati

In terms of machinery, VR46 will continue to race with year-old Ducati bikes throughout the 2024 season. Although there have been rumors about a potential move to Yamaha for 2025, the team has expressed its commitment to remain a Ducati satellite.

Buzzecchi was even offered a spot on Pramac Racing’s factory Ducati squad for this year but chose to stay loyal to VR46. He aims to make his next career move directly into a full factory team rather than switching between satellite teams.

A Strong Presence of Ducati Teams

VR46 will be one of four Ducati teams competing in the premier class this season. Alongside Gresini and the factory Ducati squad, Pramac completes this strong lineup within the Italian manufacturer family.

Gresini was actually ahead of other teams when it came to showcasing their new colors for 2024 during last Saturday’s event. The official reveal by works Ducati outfit followed soon after on Monday.

The Road Ahead: Testing Begins Soon

Excitement builds up as testing for the upcoming season is set to kick off on February 6th at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. Teams will have three valuable days on track before diving into what promises to be an action-packed racing year.
