Johannus Monday produced a stirring comeback performance as he battled from a set down to defeat Croatia’s Mili Poljicak 3-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-3. Despite falling behind early on, Monday displayed incredible resilience and mental fortitude to fight back against his talented opponent.

Broom and Harris Complete Impressive Victories for Britain

The other two members of this exciting quartet did not disappoint either. Charles Broom defeated Alessandro Giannessi in straight sets while Billy Harris overcame Alexander Ritschard after coming back from losing the first set. Both players showed grit and determination when it mattered most.

This victory was not without its challenges though – Stuart Parker lost out narrowly against seventh seed James Duckworth while Harry Wendelken was beaten by Italian Matteo Gigante. Daniel Cox started brightly, taking the opening set against Federico Gaio of Italy before losing in three sets.

Players must win three matches to secure a place in the main draw, with Monday, Samuel, Broom and Harris all due back on court on Wednesday for their next matches. The final qualifying round will take place on Thursday.

    Pouille Overcomes Kolar Challenge

Former world number 10 Lucas Pouille showed his class as he battled back from a set down to defeat Zdenek Kolar of the Czech Republic by a scoreline of 4-6 6-3 6-3. The Frenchman has reached the semi-finals at both Wimbledon and the US Open previously and is looking to continue his good form this year.
