Scottish clubs learn European qualifying paths
Hearts, Rangers, Motherwell and Hibernian have discovered their next opponents across the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League qualifying rounds. The draws set several decisive ties for the Scottish sides as the early European campaign takes shape.
Hearts chase Champions League route
Hearts will meet Fenerbahce or Gornik Zabrze if they eliminate Sturm Graz in Champions League qualifying. The first leg against the Austrians is played on Tuesday night, with the return at Tynecastle Park on July 25.
Third round ties are scheduled for 4/5 and 11/12 August. If Hearts lose to Sturm Graz, they drop into the Europa League to face the winners of the tie between St Gallen and Benfica.
Hearts last featured in Champions League qualifying in 2006-07, losing in the third qualifying round to AEK Athens.
Rangers open in Europa League
Rangers, who finished third in the Scottish Premiership last season, begin their Europa League campaign against Jagiellonia Bialystok of Poland. Victory would take Derek McInnes’ side into the play-off round, while defeat would send them into the Conference League for the first time.
Motherwell and Hibernian in Conference League
Motherwell and Hibernian have learned their potential Conference League opponents in the third qualifying round draw. If Motherwell get past Faroese side Havnar Boltfelag, they will meet HJK Helsinki or Irish League side Coleraine.
Hibs face Kosovar side KF Malisheva, with their possible next-round opponents emerging from the tie between NK Bravo and KF Shkendija.
