Yoru Receives Gatecrash Buff in Patch 13.01
Riot Games has detailed Yoru changes arriving with VALORANT Patch 13.01 on July 14, restoring some power to the duelist after significant nerfs in Patch 12.05. The primary adjustment increases Gatecrash duration from 15 seconds to 20 seconds, granting players more time and space to execute plays before committing to a teleport.
Fakeout Clones Now Mirror Equipped Weapon
To enhance Yoru’s deception toolkit, Fakeout clones will now hold his last equipped weapon rather than defaulting to his strongest option. This change formalizes a technique skilled players already employed by dropping their gun before sending clones to confuse opponents.
Yoru’s pick rate has plummeted to 1.1 percent in Competitive according to Tracker.gg, making him one of only two duelists below two percent alongside Waylay. By comparison, Raze and Phoenix sit at four percent and 5.9 percent respectively, while VCT Masters London saw Yoru selected only twice, both times by Ilya “something” Petrov of Paper Rex against LEVIATÁN.
Patch 13.01 also includes slight Outlaw nerfs and an Iso buff making weapon equip after Double Tap instant, alongside improved rank manipulation detection tools as Riot prepares penalties for confirmed offenders.
