Aablan battles to victory in the Virgin Bet Solario Stakes

In a thrilling display of determination and skill, Aablan emerged victorious in the prestigious Virgin Bet Solario Stakes held at Sandown. This esteemed Group Three contest has seen some remarkable winners over the years including stars like Kingman, Too Darn Hot, and even the remarkable Masar who clinched the Derby crown back in 2018.

Trained under Charlie Appleby’s guidance and donning the iconic blue Godolphin silks much like his predecessor Masar, Aablan was full of promise following his debut triumph at Newmarket last month. The market reflected this confidence as he went off as the favorite with odds of 7-4.

Ridden by James Doyle, Aablan made his move two furlongs from home but found himself unable to overtake leader Inishfallen. It seemed that victory might slip through his grasp as Starlore charged on from behind. However, displaying sheer resilience and an unyielding spirit, Aablan fought back valiantly among these fierce rivals.

With every stride towards the finish line becoming increasingly crucial, Aablan dug deep within himself to snatch victory by a neck from unexpected contender Inishfallen who had entered with odds of 22-1. Devil’s Point also showcased an impressive late surge but fell short by one length and a quarter finishing in third place. Meanwhile, Starlore was left to settle for fourth by a mere whisker.
