Allaho among the top contenders for King George crown

Allaho, Gerri Colombe, and Bravemansgame Lead King George VI Chase Entries

In a thrilling lineup for the upcoming Ladbrokes King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day, eight contenders have already confirmed their participation. Among them are Allaho, who gives Willie Mullins strong hopes of his second victory in three years after Tornado Flyer’s surprise win two seasons ago. The dual Ryanair Chase winner was set to claim last year’s three-mile contest before an unfortunate injury disrupted his campaign. However, he made a triumphant return with a recent victory in the Clonmel Oil Chase.

Gerri Colombe suffered only one defeat throughout his career when he finished behind The Real Whacker at last season’s Cheltenham Festival. Both horses are now poised to clash again following their closely contested encounter that saw them separated by just a short head. Since then, Gerri Colombe has achieved notable successes with two Grade One wins at Aintree and Down Royal while The Real Whacker struggled after being pulled up in the Paddy Power Gold Cup due to self-inflicted injuries.

Bravemansgame, trained by Paul Nicholls and last year’s victor, will aim to reclaim his winning form after disappointingly falling short in both the Charlie Hall and Betfair Chase earlier this season. He will be joined by stable companion Frodon who triumphed in the race back in 2020.

The field also includes Shishkin as an intriguing entry after some concerns about his recent refusal to start at Ascot. Although displaying stamina for three miles during Aintree’s spring event, trainer Nicky Henderson worries about Shishkin’s lack of recent competition.

Completing the lineup, Shark Hanlon’s Hewick and Venetia Williams’ Royale Pagaille, winner of the Betfair Chase, add further excitement to the highly anticipated race.

Ladbrokes Christmas Hurdle Sees Constitution Hill as the Favorite

In another exciting event on Boxing Day, Constitution Hill faces a maximum of five rivals in the Ladbrokes Christmas Hurdle. This much-anticipated return will showcase one of National Hunt racing’s finest talents after unfortunate weather conditions canceled his intended comeback during the Fighting Fifth. Trainer Nicky Henderson deemed the ground too soft when it was rearranged at Sandown a week later.

Constitution Hill’s possible contenders include stablemate First Street, along with Kerry Lee-trained Black Poppy and Nemean Lion. Paul Nicholls’ Rubaud and veteran Sceau Royal complete this thrilling lineup.

Nine Entries for Ladbrokes Kauto Star Novices’ Chase

The upcoming Ladbrokes Kauto Star Novices’ Chase features an intriguing UK debut by Il Est Francais from trainers Noel George and Amanda Zetterholm in France. However, he faces tough competition against other notable entries such as Hermes Allen trained by Paul Nicholls, Gordon Elliott’s Imagine, Grangeclare West and Klassical Dream representing Willie Mullins stable, along with Lucinda Russell’s Giovinco among others.
