Art Power triumphs over Kinross in an exhilarating Champions Sprint showdown

Art Power Denies Dettori and Kinross in British Champions Sprint Stakes

In a thrilling turn of events, Art Power showed immense bravery as he thwarted Frankie Dettori and Kinross’ attempt at back-to-back victories in the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot. The gallant grey, trained by Tim Easterby, made his fifth appearance in this prestigious contest.

Ridden by David Allan, Art Power took an early lead and set a blistering pace from the start. Meanwhile, Dettori aboard Kinross tracked their every move, gradually pushing their mount into contention around two furlongs from home. It seemed that last year’s race winner was destined for victory once again as they surged ahead inside the final furlong with impressive stamina.

However, Art Power refused to give up without a fight. The Royal Ascot winner from three years ago dug deep and displayed incredible determination to make a stunning comeback at odds of 40-1. This unexpected triumph not only secured Art Power’s first Group One win on British soil but also provided Allan with his maiden victory at this level.

Easterby Praises Art Power’s Unyielding Spirit

“It wasn’t the Curragh, which was great! He just keeps turning up and trying his best,” quipped Easterby when asked about Art Power’s remarkable run against Irish competitors.
