Beckett expresses satisfaction with Westover ahead of Arc endeavor

Westover Prepares for Glory in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe

Last Friday, Westover enjoyed a refreshing trip to the beach as anticipation grows for his upcoming bid for glory in the prestigious Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. The Irish Derby champion from last season put up an impressive performance in Europe’s premier middle-distance race and is now set to return to Paris next weekend after a successful campaign so far.

Ralph Beckett’s four-year-old has proven his mettle by finishing second behind Japanese star Equinox in Dubai earlier this year. Since then, he has showcased his talent by coming close behind Emily Upjohn in the Coronation Cup and triumphing in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. Most recently, he engaged in an exhilarating battle with Hukum at Ascot’s King George, narrowly losing out by a head.

The son of Frankel has been carefully managed since that intense race at Ascot and reports suggest that he is currently thriving both mentally and physically following some track work and time spent on sand dunes during his recent outings.

“Westover went to Salisbury last Friday and to Hayling Island beach this Friday, both exercises were conducted successfully,” stated Beckett when asked about Westover’s preparation. “These activities helped him relax before Longchamp while showcasing his adaptability across various ground conditions.”

In addition to Westover’s aspiring journey towards Group One success, another talented contender from Ralph Beckett’s stable will be making waves on racing grounds soon. Task Force – an offspring of Frankel out of Guineas winner Special Duty – has demonstrated immense promise already by securing victories at Salisbury maiden races and Ripon Listed events.

“Task Force will be targeting the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket,” added Beckett. “I was extremely pleased with his performance during Saturday’s training session.”

With Westover and Task Force leading the charge, Juddmonte owners and Ralph Beckett have their sights set on an exciting weekend of top-level racing.
