Belgian Rider Nathan van Hooydonck Hospitalized After Car Accident

In a surprising turn of events, Belgian cyclist Nathan van Hooydonck has been rushed to the hospital following a serious car accident in Kalmthout, near Antwerp. The 27-year-old Jumbo-Visma team rider fell ill while behind the wheel of his vehicle, leading to the incident.

While this unfortunate event unfolded, Van Hooydonck’s pregnant wife was also present in the car but fortunately escaped unharmed. Reports from the team confirm that he is receiving medical care at the hospital and undergoing further examinations; however, they have neither confirmed nor denied rumors suggesting his condition is critical.

Nathan van Hooydonck turned professional with BMC in 2017 before joining Dutch team Jumbo-Visma earlier this year. He recently played a crucial role as part of Jonas Vingegaard’s support team during their successful Tour de France campaign. Additionally, he participated in last week’s Tour of Britain and was set to represent Belgium at the upcoming European road championships.
