Disappointing Turn of Events Forces Relief Rally to Withdraw from Cheveley Park Opportunity

Relief Rally Misses Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes – Disappointment for Trainers and Owners

The highly anticipated Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday will miss one of its key contenders. Relief Rally, trained by William Haggas, has unfortunately been withdrawn from the race due to a bad scope.

Owned by Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, who are better known for their National Hunt acquisitions, Relief Rally has proven to be a money spinner with impressive wins at Windsor and Salisbury. The filly narrowly lost out in a thrilling finish to Crimson Advocate in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot before bouncing back with a convincing victory in a valuable sales race at Newbury.

In her most recent outing, Relief Rally stepped up in distance to six furlongs and emerged victorious in the Group Two Lowther Stakes at York, defeating Aidan O’Brien’s Cherry Blossom. The talented filly was then set to take on Group One competition but unfortunately will have to wait for another opportunity as she is now unable to compete.

Cherry Blossom and Soprano Among Other Contenders

The absence of Relief Rally leaves the door open for other fillies in the race, including Aidan O’Brien’s Cherry Blossom. Although she finished behind Relief Rally in their previous encounter, Cherry Blossom has since demonstrated her form by securing a runner-up spot and a significant prize at the Curragh.

Soprano, trained by George Boughey, is another filly to watch out for. She has consistently performed well in tough competition but is yet to add to her debut success at Newmarket. Boughey believes that sticking with six furlongs suits her style of running and highlights her strong stamina as an advantage on this particular track.

Jasna’s Secret Aiming to Replicate French Success

Jasna’s Secret will be aiming to follow in the footsteps of past French winners such as Ma Biche, Ravinella, Special Duty, Natagora, and Vorda when she takes on this prestigious race. After an impressive double victory at Deauville last month under Carlos and Yann Lerner’s ownership, Jasna’s Secret was acquired by Wathnan Racing team with high hopes for future success.

Porta Fortuna Returns With High Hopes

The Albany winner Porta Fortuna returns to the UK under trainer Donnacha O’Brien after two commendable performances in Group One races at The Curragh. Despite finishing second in the Phoenix Stakes and sharing third place in Moyglare Stakes during Irish Champions Festival weekend, Porta Fortuna looks forward to showcasing her abilities once again.
