In a stunning display of talent, Fallen Angel has proven herself as a force to be reckoned with in the racing world. The Karl Burke-trained filly showcased her abilities with an impressive victory in the Molson Coors Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket.
Having already shown promise in her racecourse debut at Haydock in May, where she narrowly missed out on first place to Shuwari in the Listed Star Stakes at Sandown, Fallen Angel entered Group Three company as the 9-4 favorite.
Under jockey Danny Tudhope’s skilled guidance, Fallen Angel traveled strongly throughout the seven-furlong contest. As they approached the final stretch, it became apparent that no other contender could match her pace and determination.
Soprano, who had previously finished third in both the Albany at Royal Ascot and the Star Stakes, put up a commendable fight but was ultimately overpowered by Burke’s exceptional filly. Falling three lengths behind, Soprano couldn’t keep up with Fallen Angel’s remarkable acceleration.
Paddy Power has recognized Fallen Angel’s potential and currently offers odds of 25-1 for her chances in next year’s 1000 Guineas. Coral is even more impressed by her performance and has reduced its odds from 33-1 to an enticing 14-1.
Jockey Danny Tudhope spoke highly of Fallen Angel after their victory: “It was very impressive. This filly stays this trip well; she wants a mile now and may even excel over ten furlongs eventually.”
