Dylan Kitts Faces Suspension of License

Conditional Jockey Dylan Kitts Suspended Following BHA Hearing

In a surprising turn of events, conditional jockey Dylan Kitts has had his licence suspended with immediate effect after a formal hearing conducted by the British Horseracing Authority’s judicial panel. The decision comes as a result of an investigation into Kitts’ ride on Hillsin, trained by Chris Honour, at Worcester.

Kitts took the initiative to voluntarily stand down on July 7 when it was announced that there would be an inquiry regarding his performance in the race. Finishing third with a length-and-a-half behind the winner, his ride attracted attention from the raceday stewards who subsequently referred him to the BHA for further examination.

The repercussions extended beyond Kitts himself, as Hillsin received a 40-day ban from racing. This development prompted trainer Chris Honour to reveal that his family had been subjected to abusive comments on social media. In response, Honour made the difficult decision to request that Alan Clegg, owner of Hillsin, remove all horses from his yard.

On Thursday, a formal hearing convened by the BHA determined Kitts’ fate. As of now and until further notice, he is unable to participate in races or attend any racecourses within Britain due to his suspension. The duration and terms will continue under review while investigations are ongoing and potential disciplinary proceedings are being carried out as expeditiously as possible.
