In a thrilling turn of events, Khaadem, the victorious horse at Royal Ascot, has been added as a late entry for the Pertemps Network July Cup at Newmarket this Saturday. This sets up an exciting showdown between Khaadem and another Ascot hero, Shaquille.

Charlie Hills, the trainer of Khaadem, had already revealed last week that their sights were set on this midsummer highlight at Newmarket. To secure his participation in the race, a supplementary fee of £36,000 was paid on Monday.

Shaquille, trained by Julie Camacho, showcased an outstanding performance by winning the Commonwealth Cup during the same meeting despite missing the break. However, in this upcoming clash he will not only have to defeat older competitors but also confirm his form against Aidan O’Brien’s runner-up from Ascot – Little Big Bear.
