LeBron James leads Lakers to victory over Celtics in thrilling overtime game

Regal Reality Wins Betfred Diomed Stakes at Epsom

Regal Reality, the eight-year-old horse trained by Sir Michael Stoute and ridden by Ryan Moore, emerged victorious at the Betfred Diomed Stakes held in Epsom. With odds of 5-1, Regal Reality was barely visible during the race’s early stages as Marie’s Diamond led with a steady pace. However, things changed when Charlie Appleby’s Highland Avenue surged ahead and took the lead after Tattenham Corner.

Kolsai challenged Highland Avenue but found himself competing against three horses for the top spot inside the final furlong. Regal Reality then made a move to join this tussle for first place and eventually won with an impressive three-quarters-of-a-length lead. Owned by Peter Done (BetFred boss Fred Done’s brother), Regal Reality is described affectionately by his trainer as “a grand old horse,” winning one of these major races every year.

While there are no concrete plans yet for future competitions, it is hoped that he will land at least two more victories this year. Appleby had high praise for Highland Avenue despite losing out on first place: “He’s one of those sort of horses who will be bang there in all these top races.” He mentioned that 10 furlongs suits him best but did not provide further details regarding any future plans or competitions.
