Sofia Kenin displayed great determination as she battled her way to a hard-fought win against Viktorija Golubic. Danielle Collins also contributed to the team’s success with a convincing victory over Celine Naef.

    The USA will now face the Czech Republic in their quest for a spot in the semi-finals.

    Australia triumphs after thrilling doubles match tie-break

    In Group B, Australia emerged victorious against Kazakhstan in an intense battle. Storm Hunter and Ellen Perez showcased their teamwork and resilience as they won a third-set match tie-break against Anna Danilina and Yulia Putintseva. This pivotal victory secured Australia’s place in the next round.

    Storm Hunter had set the stage for Australia’s triumph by winning her singles match against Danilina, while Putintseva fought back and leveled the tie by defeating Kimberly Birrell.

    Twelve nations compete for ultimate glory

    The Billie Jean King Cup features twelve nations vying for supremacy, with teams divided into four groups during the round-robin stage. The group winners will advance to Saturday’s semi-finals, leading up to Sunday’s highly anticipated final in Seville.

    Notably absent from this year’s competition is Great Britain, who failed to qualify after losing to France during the qualifying stage. However, they still have an opportunity to secure a spot in next year’s BJK Cup qualifiers through a play-off tie against Sweden scheduled on 11-12 November at London’s Copper Box Arena.
