Ramatuelle showcases impressive performance in Prix Robert Papin

Ramatuelle Creates a Stir as French Winner of Prix Robert Papin after 10-Year Drought

Ramatuelle, the filly trained by Christopher Head, has emerged as yet another exceptional performer in his stable. In a remarkable feat, Ramatuelle became the first French-trained winner of the prestigious Prix Robert Papin in a decade. This Group Two race at Chantilly has witnessed overseas domination recently, with notable winners like Tis Marvellous, Signora Cabello, and Blackbeard making their mark.

However, this time it was all about Head’s highly promising filly who has shown immense potential by winning three out of her four starts. Her only defeat came against Beauvatier on her second outing – an impressive subsequent Listed winner now unbeaten in three races.

Riding under Aurelien Lemaitre’s expert guidance, Ramatuelle showcased excellent control throughout the race. When asked to accelerate towards victory, there was never any doubt that she would leave her competitors behind. Amy Murphy’s Myconian briefly threatened to challenge but eventually had to settle for third place. Aidan O’Brien’s His Majesty displayed staying power and secured second place, finishing four lengths behind Ramatuelle.
