The semi-final of the Italian Open will see Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas face off against each other

After an impressive victory over Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev continued his winning streak at the Italian Open by beating Yannick Hanfmann in straight sets to set up a semi-final encounter with Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Russian player had never won in Rome before this year and has only dropped one set throughout the entire tournament.

    The Battle of the Titans

Medvedev’s opponent, Tsitsipas, is also in excellent form as he has not dropped a single set during his run to the last four. It will be interesting to see how these two titans face off against each other; both players are on top of their game and have shown remarkable resilience so far.

    Casper Ruud versus Holger Rune

Norway’s Casper Ruud will battle it out with Denmark’s rising star Holger Rune for a place in the final. Rune made headlines when he beat Novak Djokovic earlier in the tournament while Ruud has been steadily making his way through each round.

A Final Without Djokovic or Nadal?

This year’s Italian Open could see history being made as neither Djokovic nor Rafael Nadal will feature in the final. Both Medvedev and Tsitsipas must feel positive about their chances of claiming a clay-court title with Roland Garros just around the corner.
