Tullyhill earns Supreme spot following Punchestown victory

Tullyhill’s Impressive Victory Raises Cheltenham Hopes

Following a stunning display in the Madigan Group Irish EBF Sheila Bourke Novice Hurdle at Punchestown, Tullyhill is now capturing attention as a potential contender for Cheltenham. With a notable second-place finish in last season’s Champion Bumper and improved hurdling skills showcased in recent races, this six-year-old has set tongues wagging.

Despite facing an early setback on his hurdling debut, Tullyhill bounced back with a dominant performance at Naas maiden race where he triumphed by seven lengths. Under the guidance of jockey Paul Townend, the favorite seized control of the Listed level event at Punchestown and cruised to victory by an impressive nine-length margin.

The Supreme Novices’ Hurdle awaits Tullyhill at Cheltenham, with odds as low as 5-1 signaling growing confidence in his abilities. Trainer Mullins commended the horse’s progress stating,” He’s entitled to go anywhere after a performance like that.” The decision on pursuing a bid at Cheltenham will be made after thorough consultation with owners Cheveley Park Stud.

Mister Policeman Regains Form with Convincing Win

In another riveting showdown at Punchestown, Mister Policeman reclaimed his winning form in the Concept Colours Rated Novice Chase under Willie Mullins’ tutelage. Acquired by Rich Ricci post French hurdles success and subsequent victories in Ireland, this chestnut gelding impressed spectators once more.

Facing tough competition previously where he finished third behind Quilixios and Sa Fureur, Mister Policeman redeemed himself with an emphatic six-length victory over four rivals. Mullins hinted towards future plans for Mister Policeman saying,” …he’ll probably be better going out in trip… there are plenty of good races to be won.”
