Warm Heart claims victory in Prix Vermeille with a passionate performance

Warm Heart Continues Brilliant Season with Qatar Prix Vermeille Win

The sensational season for Warm Heart, the Galileo filly trained by Aidan O’Brien, shows no signs of slowing down as she triumphed in the prestigious Qatar Prix Vermeille at ParisLongchamp.

Prior to her victory in Yorkshire Oaks last month under jockey James Doyle, Warm Heart had already showcased her talent by winning both the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Haras De Bouquetot Fillies’ Trial Stakes at Newbury. Although she finished fifth in the Irish Oaks earlier this year, her consistency is undeniable.

In Paris, Warm Heart reunited with Doyle and delivered an exceptional performance. Despite facing stiff competition from Francis-Henri Graffard’s Melo Melo, she prevailed by a neck margin as an 11-4 favorite.

Hermine Bastide of Coolmore owners praised Warm Heart’s love for good ground and described her as “super generous.” James Doyle also commended her determination during a race that was far from straightforward.

Doyle revealed that Warm Heart encountered some difficulties during the contest. She stumbled at the start, causing him to lose position and become momentarily boxed-in. However, despite these challenges, she displayed remarkable tenacity and emerged victorious.

Looking ahead to future plans for Warm Heart, Hermine Bastide stated that it will be up to the team to decide on their next step. One potential destination mentioned prior to the race was the Breeders’ Cup, but her absence from the Arc suggests that she may not be supplemented for it. Doyle emphasized that ground conditions will play a crucial role in determining her future engagements, as she prefers good ground due to her light-actioned nature.

While some editions of the Arc have been run on fast ground in the past, it is not a common occurrence. Therefore, Warm Heart’s connections might consider alternative races where ideal ground conditions are more likely.
