York a Potential Destination for Auguste Rodin Following Ascot

The Unpredictable Journey of Auguste Rodin: From Derby Glory to Potential Drops and Challenges Ahead

In a surprising turn of events, Michael Tabor, co-owner of the illustrious dual Derby winner Auguste Rodin, has hinted at a potential drop down to 10 furlongs for the upcoming Juddmonte International. While this decision seems high on the agenda for the talented colt, Tabor also contemplates an even more audacious possibility – setting his sights on the esteemed Breeders’ Cup Classic at the end of the season.

Auguste Rodin, a rare offspring hailing from late Japanese champion Deep Impact’s lineage, recently marked an extraordinary milestone in trainer Aidan O’Brien’s career by securing his 100th European Classic win. Guided by jockey Ryan Moore’s skilled hands, they triumphed over stablemate Adelaide River in a thrilling battle at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby held at Curragh last Sunday.

Owned in partnership with John and Susan Magnier, Derrick Smith, and Georg von Opel’s Westerberg racing operation; it was under Tabor’s renowned royal blue and orange disk silks that Auguste Rodin had previously tasted victory at Epsom.
