Arsenal secure Danish teenager Damm
Arsenal have completed a permanent transfer for 18-year-old Danish goalkeeper Isabella Damm from Brondby IF. The move adds a Denmark youth international to a goalkeeping group that already includes Daphne van Domselaar and Anneke Borbe.
A familiar path to north London
Damm spent time at Arsenal on trial last season before returning to Brondby, the club she joined in 2021. She progressed through their youth ranks and made her first-team debut in October 2025.
She has represented Denmark at both under-17 and under-19 level. Damm will wear the number 40 shirt at Arsenal.
“I’m so proud to be joining Arsenal and I can’t wait to get started,” Damm said. “Arsenal is a great club and I’m excited to develop as a player and as a person here, and help the club achieve more success.”
“I’ve had the experience of training here before and I know the environment is the right one for me to progress in,” she added.
Coaching staff back the signing
Manager Renee Slegers pointed to Damm’s readiness as a young prospect. “Isabella is an exciting young goalkeeper with a strong foundation to build on,” Slegers said.
“Her technical ability, composure and bravery are already clear, and she has a high ceiling for growth and progression,” Slegers added. She said the club’s goalkeeping coaches and wider staff would support Damm’s development as she starts at Arsenal.
Director of women’s football Clare Wheatley said the club had tracked the player for a while and rated her highly in her age group. “We’re really pleased to bring Isabella to the club,” Wheatley said.
“She’s a player we’ve been monitoring for some time and we believe she’s one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe in her age group,” Wheatley added.
