Hull KR half-back Mikey Lewis handed four-match ban
Hull KR half-back Mikey Lewis has been suspended for four matches following two separate charges from the Rugby Football League disciplinary panel. The 25-year-old England international was charged with a Grade C offence for late contact on the passer and a Grade E headbutt during the Robins’ 34-12 defeat by Warrington on Saturday.
The ban rules Lewis out of Saturday’s derby at Hull FC as well as subsequent fixtures against Bradford, Castleford and Catalans. His absence comes at a critical juncture for last season’s treble winners as they fight to secure a play-off place, with the half-back having made 23 appearances across all competitions this season.
In related disciplinary decisions, Huddersfield Giants centre Taane Milne received a three-match ban for a Grade E charge of unnecessary contact with an injured player, while Wigan’s Kian McDermott was handed a two-game suspension for head contact in the same match.
